Built in 1963 and originally named the "Carlton Towers", advertised to be an "Uitra Modern Luxary Apartments catering to your own individual ides of comfort, privacy and the convenience of downtown living."    The 183 unit apartment building in a Y-shaped configuration was  architected by Howard L. Dutkin, A.I.A. and constructed by Frank J. Rooney, Inc.  Back in the day the 10 story building was the tallest building downtown making it iconic.  Through the years the building hosted a coffee shop, restaurant and beauty parlor, and in current day a real estate agency.  In 2005 the building was converted to condominiums and renamed,  "The Beacon on Third".


The mid-rise condominium building is located in the heart of Downtown St. Petersburg. The Beacon on 3rd offers a range of 1 and 2 bedroom residences, 24 hour fitness center, rooftop deck with endless city and water views, large pool with cabanas and grilling area, night and weekend security, and designated parking spaces. Things You Should Know

Beacon Community Living (Renters and Owners)

  • Occupancy:  Except for occasional guests, occupancy may not exceed 2 persons in a studio or 1-bedroom unit and 4 persons in a 2-bedroom unit.
  • Guests: Residents are responsible for the actions of their guests.
  • Security:  Doors are to be closed and locked at all times. Make sure unknown persons have a fob before opening the door. Security is on site 5pm till 5am 7-days per week. (824-0984)
  • Pets:  Limit 2 pets per unit with a combined weight of 50 pounds. Dog Owners must register with management, have on a leash at all times in public areas, may not take into common areas except for walking through the front lobby, may not leave unattended on balconies, and are responsible for sanitarily disposing of all pet waste (including the outside areas)
  • Smoking:  Smoking is prohibited by state law in all enclosed common areas, and by the Association in stairways and open hallways. Cigarette and cigar butts/ash must not be thrown from any balcony. Receptacles are at each entrance for proper disposal before entering the building.
  • Trash: Use medium size bags and push totally down the chute and close the chute door. Larger trash must be carried to the dumpster- NOT left in the garbage chute room.
  • Balconies:  Residents must not allow anything to fall or be thrown from any window, door, or balcony. Water drainage from balcony is not allowed. Only plants may be higher than the railing.
    Sound carries, so be considerate of neighbors and avoid loud voices/music/TV. No loud conversations or playing music on balconies after 11pm. Wind chimes are not permitted.
  • Parking:  All vehicles must be parked in the assigned owner designated space(s). Any unauthorized vehicle may be subject to towing. Parking places for guests are marked “Visitor” by permit only. See the manager for owners, renters, or visitor parking permits.
  • Disturbances/ Complaints:  For excessive barking (10 min or more) notify Security (727-310-8747) or Management (727-896-5190) For other disturbances, call Security, Management, or Police.

Amenity Hours

The hours for the pool, gym and roof deck have been extended.


Pool Hours - 9am to 10pm

Roof Deck Hours - 9am to 10pm

Fitness Center - 6am to 12midnight


Use of the Social Room will continue to be by reservation only. Please use the form available on the Association website (https://condo.cincwebaxis.com/) when requesting use.
